The Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker body and lid are made from food-grade, 18/8, non-magnetic, superior stainless steel (AISI Grade 304), ensuring maximum hygiene and durability. The '18/8' symbolizes that this stainless steel grade contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, providing greater anti-corrosion resistance and the ability to withstand the various acids found in many foods such as fruits, meats, milk, and vegetables. Type 304 stainless steel has great strength, which means that, properly used, your Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker will give you many years of faithful service.

The pressure cooker body and lid are made of this food-grade, superior stainless steel, and on the outside bottom, sandwiched between two sheets of stainless steel, is a core of 4.1 mm thick aluminium, which spreads heat quickly and evenly, ensuring no hotspots and preventing food from burning or sticking. The external base is made of AISI Grade 430 magnetic stainless steel, allowing the pressure cooker to work on both gas and induction cooktops. The extra-thick 5.8 mm base stays flat and never bulges, and it can be used safely for light and deep frying before pressure cooking.

The unique Hawkins pressure-locked safety lid ensures that when there is pressure inside the cooker, the lid is pressure-locked like a modern jetliner door, preventing it from being opened until the pressure has fallen to a safe level. This pressure cooker is also induction compatible, making it ideal for cooking for 5 to 7 persons.

The package includes a 1-piece stainless steel pressure cooker with a 5-liter capacity, a base flat diameter of 158 mm, and a base thickness of 5.81 mm. It is easy to clean, ensures uniform heating, and is corrosion resistant. The base always stays flat, and the pressure cooker can be used safely for light and deep frying as well as pressure cooking.

The gasket of the pressure cooker is designed to last longer, as it does not get rubbed sideways, cut, or scraped every time the pressure cooker is opened or closed. Additionally, the exposure of the gasket to food acids is minimized due to the protection given by the rim of the lid.

The pressure cooker comes with sturdy, stay-cool handles that are easy and comfortable to hold while cooking.
