The latest improvement is a 4.06 mm new improved induction base and a superior pressure regulating system that controls pressure to a narrower, more efficient range, reduces sprouting of frothy foods (such as dal), and is easier to insert and remove. The safety valve is located under the lid handle bar, ensuring that the steam is safely deflected downwards when it operates. The gasket has minimum exposure to steam inside the cooker, and it does not rub every time the product is opened and closed, allowing it to last longer. The stay-cool handles and fixed sturdy pivot design do not put pressure on the plastic handles, as the pivot is a part of the metal handle itself, resulting in longer-lasting handles.

The Hawkins Classic pressure cooker is recommended for use on gas, electric, halogen, ceramic, and induction cooktops. It features an extra-thick induction base and is UL/ISI certified.
